Horse Museum

The only Horse Museum in Lithuania was established in 1978 under the initiative of the agronomist Petras Vasinauskas (1906-1995). The collection of exhibits in the museum reveals the significance of horse in the history of Lithuanian agriculture and culture. The exhibition of the museum is scattered in eight buildings, where various agricultural tools, blacksmithing tools, bags and horse pulled vehicles (bričkelė, lineika, važelis) from different places of Lithuania are exhibited. Besides, expositions of rural crafts are being expanded. Here works weaver and bread baker, blacksmith, and a wood carver. Visitors can ride a horse or get into a horse-carriage and take a ride in the territory of the museum, or to swing on a swing set.
